Every Q has its A
Here you'll find the best answers for some of the most commonly asked questions related to garage doors and their various features and functions.
My spring isn’t broken but it seems to lack tension. Can something be done?
Our experts can do something about the lack of tension your springs may be experiencing. We can adjust them properly and rebalance your door in order to make sure it works properly again. Don't try to adjust your garage door springs by yourself. They are very dangerous and any mishandling can lead to a serious injury.
Is it possible to adjust the speed of the garage door opening or closing?
Yes, you can find the force adjustment control on the garage door opener. Consult the owner’s manual to locate the control. Some models come with separate force controls for opening and closing. Changes to the opening force would often require adjusting the closing force as well.
Is it possible to make every type of garage door automatic?
Yes, the openers all run on electricity and can be remote-controlled. For swing doors and folding doors the openers are pneumatically operated, while for roll-up and pull-up doors the openers are belt-, chain-, screw- or direct-driven to pull the door up. Although it sounds like you need more power to pull the door up than to swing it open, additional parts are needed to automate swinging or folding, and therefore more costly.
